Our Phlebotomy Technician course is approved by the Florida Department of Education and combines online theoretical instruction, required hands-on laboratory training, and optional clinical practice opportunities. HANDS-ON LAB TRAINING
PHL101 includes a 45-hour hands-on component: 8 required hours at the academy and up to 37 optional clinical practice hours arranged independently by the student with a participating laboratory, hospital, medical office, urgent care center, or other healthcare facility, subject to that facility’s approval and requirements.
CERTIFICATION OPTIONS
Complete the program to receive an academy-issued Phlebotomy Technician Certificate. Florida does not issue a state phlebotomy license. Graduates who plan to work outside Florida should obtain a national certification, such as MedCA or NHA, after earning the school certificate. National certification exams are available at the academy in English, Russian, or Spanish for an additional $200.
